Chicago’s Loop Neighborhood is enclosed by the Chicago River on the North & West, Roosevelt on the South and Michigan Ave on the East. The Loop is the center of Chicago’s business and financial district, home of the Chicago Board of Trade and headquarters for many Chicago corporations. The Loop provides the most central location within the city.
This neighborhood is nicknamed the ‘Loop’ because of the elevated ‘El’ train tracks that loop around the city center. The Loop also houses Chicago’s Theater District, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Cadillac Palace Theatre, the Civic Opera House, Ford Center for the Performing Arts, Bank of America Theater and the Chicago Theater.
