A duplex refers to an apartment or condo unit with two levels of living space. Living in a duplex allows for separation of space and usually offers more overall living space than a single level unit. Most duplexes fall into two types: duplex-up which occupied the top two floors of the building or a duplex-down that occupies the bottom two floors of the building.
