Avondale Neighborhood Information
Chicago’s Avondale Neighborhood is enclosed by the Chicago River on the East, Pulaski on the West, and between Diversey and Addison. Avondale is an older neighborhood in-between the Irving Park neighborhood and Logan Square. The residents of Avondale have fought hard to distinguish their neighborhood from blending in with it’s surrounding neighbors.
This traditionally Polish neighborhood has seen a rise of young professionals and artistc types seeking affordable housing in a city neighborhood with access to the Loop. The Kennedy Expressway slices diagonally through Avondale providing easy access for residents who work in the city or the NorthWest suburbs. Avondale is in the process of being revitalized with new residents, new condo developments and new businesses.
